A week ago today, I asked for urgent prayer for my dear friend who went into labor at 34 weeks. Her water broke last Tuesday, very unexpectedly. She had been at a high-risk doctor's appointment most of the day to find out the exact cause of her high amniotic fluid. The baby has been diagnosed with atresia, which is some sort of blockage from the stomach to the intestines. She will have to have surgery when she is born. There are so many prayers and praises that need to be lifted up.
Specifically they are:
- Praise for wonderful pediatric doctors who have explained everything to the mom and have told her every step they will take to make her baby better.
- Praise for a wonderful husband who has been by her side.
- Praise for her wonderful family who is pitching in to help with her other child at home.
- Praise for a wonderful OB who cares enough to check in EVERY day.
- Praise for a clear heart sonogram today on the baby.
- Praise that God has remained constant throughout all that she is dealing with!
- Prayer for complete healing for the baby.
- Prayer for my friend's anxiety level and mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion.
- Prayer for nothing else to be wrong with the baby.
- Prayer for her other child, whom is beginning to realize mommy will be staying at the hospital for a while.
- Prayer for God's timing in the delivery.
When we feel so lost and helpless, and want so much to do something, we know that prayer is the common thread that keeps us sewn together.
